Glass Tiles
Joyce Schleiniger has been working as a contract designer and mold maker for the local tile company, called Oceanside Glass Tile, Carlsbad, California, since January 2002. Oceanside Glass Tile produces high quality glass tile, which is sold nationally and internationally. Joyce's responsibility is to design artistic and architectural tiles in all the usual sizes and shapes, sculpting the tiles in relief. She then develops the molds, to be used to manufacture the metal molds, for the production of the glass tiles. Due to contractual agreements she is unable to display her Oceanside Glass Tile designs on this site. Maybe after they are in full production on the retail market, photos will be available.
Ceramic Tiles
Joyce is also designing her own line of ceramic tiles, Artistic Tiles by Joyce, to be sold locally. When the line is set, she will seek a large ceramic tile manufacturer to produce, market and distribute outside the local area, as are her glass tile designs. In addition, you can enjoy the free form flat tiles, and the free form relief splash guard tiles in the photos of the new bathroom sink. (upper left) These photos were included to provide conceptual ideas you can use when upgrading, at home or in your business.
Joyce is in the process of designing tiles for several other tile manufacturers. These are to be custom lines, exclusive to these manufactures.
Custom Tiles, a Joyce specialty. Do you have an idea for a theme or design? This is what Joyce does for the various manufactures. You can contact Joyce to design tiles to complement your home, business, or maybe even your business logo.
Knobs and Handles
A local artist, Maggie, April 2004, approached Joyce with her passionate desire to design, make and sell knobs and handles in ceramic for the home designer seeking a unique specialty look. You can view a small sampling to purchase, or get ideas to to design your own, matching your custom tiles.
Sinks
While Joyce was trying to stop a faucet drip, she decided to replace the fixture, then the counter, and finally the sink. Witness the photos of the bathroom project in the upper left photo link. Sinks are basically fountain bowls with a couple of holes, which she had been designing and producing for many years. What a serendipity of fate...a bowl becomes a sink. Enjoy, and then design your sink replacement in the color to match your bathroom.
